Dr. Samuel Tejada

Dr. Samuel Tejada is a doctor and a lawyer and is studying for his MBA.  He has spent the past twenty years as a doctor in Ilopango, a city of about 160,000 near San Salvador, and he is getting involved in politics as he says, “I can help more people.”  Samuel is a visionary who sees a need and tries to help in any way possible.  Samuel says that New Vision is helping change the lives of children.  He calls New Vision “God’s Project.”

June Williams

June Williams retired as an English/Spanish teacher and then taught English as a second language (ESL) in an adult education program. She is an avid reader and traveler and is grateful for her close association with people from around the world. Her trip to El Salvador was life-changing. She and Samuel realized that two ordinary people could create a mission/project that could have an enormous impact on the lives of children. June says, “I remember vividly the excitement I experienced as a child when I received my first pair of glasses. A dull, fuzzy world became clear and distinct and had beautiful colors. I could actually read the writing on the chalkboard. I was amazed! My goal is for the children of El Salvador who have eye defects to have the experience of seeing the world anew as I did.”

Dr. Mena

Dr. Mena has been a key person for New Vision.  With his expertise as a doctor who specializes in the eye, he has diligently checked the eyes of about 25 children Saturday after Saturday.  Getting the right prescription and frames that fit has been of utmost importance to New Vision.
